§ 1701-100. GROUNDS FOR DISCONTINUANCE OF SERVICE

Latest version.
  • (a)

Nonpayment: Services which are subject to a service fee may be discontinued for nonpayment of that fee. A customer's service may be discontinued if services furnished at a previous location have not been paid. If a customer receives services at more than one location and the bill for services at any one location is not paid, services at all locations may be discontinued. Notwithstanding the foregoing, domestic services shall not be discontinued for the nonpayment of fees for other classes of service.

    (b)

Dangerous or Unsafe Conditions: Services may be refused or discontinued to any premises where conditions exist which might endanger or disturb the service to other customers. Where the Director has a reasonable suspicion and a good faith belief that such conditions exist but which cannot be verified because access to the property has been denied, services may be discontinued based upon that good faith belief. Services may be restored upon proof, satisfactory to the Director, that the condition endangering or disturbing other customers has been corrected.

    (c)

Fraud or Abuse: Services may be discontinued if necessary to protect the County against fraud or abuse.

    (d)

Noncompliance with Regulations: Services may be discontinued for a customer's failure to comply with the provisions of this Title, any laws or regulations relating to the services provided, or the terms of any permit issued pursuant to this Title.
