§ 1701-110. DISCONTINUANCE OF SERVICE PROCEDURE—NON-PAYMENT

  • Prior to discontinuing services for non-payment, the Director or his/her authorized representative shall do the following:

    (a)

    Fifteen-Day Warning: Customers who are delinquent 45 days after the date of issuance of the statement shall be sent a 15-day warning notice. The form shall be prepared by the Director and shall set forth the amount due and owing on the account. Failure to pay the amount owing within 15 days of the date of the notice shall automatically initiate a 48-hour notice.

    (b)

    Forty-Eight-Hour Notice: If the account remains unpaid at the end of the 15-day warning period, the County shall post a 48-hour shut-off notice on the customer's property. Failure to pay the amount owing within 48 hours (not including Saturday, Sunday or County holidays) after the posting of the notice shall result in termination of utility services.

    (c)

    Charges: The Board of Supervisors may set charges for noticing, discontinuing and restarting service.
