§ 950-010. CLOSING ROADS FOR CONSTRUCTION

  • If it shall appear to any member of the Board of Supervisors of the County of Sutter, or to the Engineer employed as Road Commissioner by said Board of Supervisors, pursuant to the provisions of Section 2640 of the Political Code of the State of California, necessary to close any road or highway in the County of Sutter, so as to permit, of the proper performance or completion of work being done thereon, such member of the Board of Supervisors or such Road Commissioner may close, or cause to be closed, the whole or any part thereof, deemed necessary to be excluded, from public travel.

    Whenever such road, or highway, or portion thereof, is so closed or is in process of construction or maintenance, the Supervisor or Engineer employed as Road Commissioner shall erect, or cause to be erected, suitable barriers or obstructions thereon, or post, or cause to be posted, conspicuous notices that said road or highway or portion thereof is closed, or directing the travel, and such Supervisor or Engineer employed as Road Commissioner may place, or cause to be placed, warning lights or lanterns on such road or highway, or portions thereof.
