It is hereby made the duty of the county health officer and the special health officer
in the town for which he is appointed to quarantine any home, tenement or other place
wherein any case of small-pox, cholera, yellow fever, scarlet fever, or any other
contagious or infectious disease exists, by erecting or causing to be erected in a
conspicuous place in front of such house, tenement or other place a yellow flag or
other suitable notice of the existence of such disease at such place; and it is hereby
made unlawful for any person to remove such flag or other notice or to cause the same
to be removed without permission from the health officer, in charge of the case.
