§ 78-100. COMMITTEE RULES

  • (a)

    It shall be the responsibilities of each committee to report, with recommendations on items assigned to each, at regular monthly meetings.

    (b)

    Committee assignment topics shall be made by the chairperson of the Commission for investigation by the appropriate standing committee.

    (c)

    Standing committees may present, following regular reports, additional items of importance discussed or proposed by committee members as a result of their meeting for the purpose of consideration by the membership of the Advisory Commission.

    (d)

    All items regarding fund expenditures, as recommended by any standing committee or member, must be approved by the Planning and Budget Committee and the Board of Supervisors, excepting funds of an emergency nature.

    (e)

    Chairman of each standing committee will conduct meetings under the same procedures as the Advisory Commission.

    (f)

    The chairmen of standing committees shall appoint a committee secretary for the purposes of recording and reporting activities of the committee to the Advisory Commission. Copies of the committee reports will be given to the secretary of the Advisory Commission for inclusion in the minutes.

    (g)

    Regular meetings of standing committees shall be held immediately following Advisory Commission meetings for the purpose of discussion of assigned topics.

    (h)

    Special meetings of standing committees may be called subject to compliance with the Ralph M. Brown Act by the chairman of the standing committee for the purpose of field examination of topics of discussion for the benefit of the Advisory Commission.

    (i)

    Any request made by the chairman or member of a standing committee for funds for the purpose of reimbursement of personal expenses incurred on behalf of the committee or member as a result of field investigations of topics of discussion, as assigned by the chairperson, shall be received by the Planning and Budget Committee for consideration of the approval of funds for compensation of personal expenses beyond normal approved budgetary expenses and recommendation to the Board of Supervisors, if unbudgeted.
