§ 20-030. DUTIES

  • (a)

    The County Counsel shall discharge all of the duties required under Section 26520, 26523, 26524, 26526, 26529, 27642, 27643, and 27645 of the Government Code of the State of California, as well as any other duties required of the County Counsel by the laws of the State of California;

    (b)

    He shall attend all meetings of the Board of Supervisors and receive assignments from the Board;

    (c)

    He shall render legal opinions in writing and orally in response to requests from the County Administrator, County officers and departments heads;

    (d)

    He shall draft contracts, agreements, leases, deeds, ordinances, resolutions, and other legal instruments for the Board of Supervisors, departments and special districts of the County;

    (e)

    He shall prosecute legal actions (other than criminal actions) on behalf of, and defend actions against the County and its subdivisions before courts of origin, appellate courts, and various administrative bodies;

    (f)

    He shall attend meetings of the Local Agency Formation Commission, County and Area Planning Commissions, and other Boards and Commissions, as required by the Board of Supervisors;

    (g)

    He shall analyze legislation affecting the County of Sutter during sessions of the State Legislature, and shall advise the Board as to the effect and intent of proposed or pending legislation and, as directed by the Board, shall represent the Board at meetings of the State Legislature.
